There are numerous benefits to consuming a plant-based protein powder instead of an animal based one, and you may be wondering - is vegan protein powder better than whey? Here are a few reasons why you should consider it:

How to mix protein powder

A good quality protein powder should mix relatively easy. We recommend that you add 1 large scoop (approx 30g) to 150-250ml of water into a shaker bottle, and shake well. This can be consumed 30 minutes before and/or after your workout. You can also consume a drink anytime of the day to increase your amino acid intake but you should also consider our bars or snacks as they also contain higher amounts of fibre.

How to use protein powder

As we have just mentioned above, you can supplement before or after a workout, but did you know there are many other ways you can use powder too?

Here are a few ideas:

  • Create a tasty smoothie: Instead of making a protein shake, why not make a smoothie? Throw some spinach, blueberries, a banana, ice and a scoop of our protein powder and blend together with almond milk. You'll have a healthy and tasty drink that is packed full of goodness.
  • Baking: Do you love to bake? Have you ever considered using protein powder in your mix? Next time you're creating a batch of cookies or cupcakes, sprinkle some vegan protein into the mix to add a level of health benefits.
  • Peanut Butter Balls: If you're looking to create your own tasty snack, try mixing our protein with peanut butter, chia seeds, cinnamon, rolled oats and maple syrup. Here's a great recipe and you won't be disappointed. 

Can I use vegan protein powder to lose weight?

You sure can. As part of a healthy diet, protein can help you to lose weight because it helps you to stay satiated. This means you won't be reaching for that unhealthy snack 10 minutes later. Protein, and in particular amino acids are used throughout the body to repair your muscles. Combining weight training with protein supplementation will increase your muscle mass, which in turn improves your metabolism. This means you'll burn more energy and fat throughout the day.
